PFH3 Hash Commandments

  1. Thou shalt keep Wednesdays sacred for Hashing as commanded by thy Grand Master. On this day thou shalt avoid rendering thyself incapable of hashing due to work, food, drugs, or drink. Six days shalt thou labor and on the seventh thou shalt Hash. If Saturday be declared a hash day, thou shall remove from thy schedule all hinderence to hashing.

  2. Honor thy Grand Master and hash elders that thy days may be prolonged upon the land and it may go well with thee, for they are always right even when they are wrong. In the circle thou shalt at all times respect thy Religious Advisor, for His word is sacred. Thou shalt keep thy trap shut unless singing the holy Hash anthems or unless thy opinion is sought by the Hash Elders.

  3. Whilst engaged in Hashing thou shalt avoid all purveyances of drama. Thou shalt also aid thy fellow hasher in keeping a pure hash heart and avoiding all opportunities for drama. Thou shalt keep what happens in the hash in the hash and keep what happens outside the hash outside the hash

  4. Thou shalt lay thy Trail not in the private property of others for verily the locals, whose labor hath secured this land, will take their vengeance and their wrath shall know no bounds and will descend upon thee and all who follow be they innocent or guilty. Thou shalt lay trail of the highest quality and provide beverage suitable to quench the thirst of those who trail behind thee. Thou shalt not auto hash, neither shalt thou hitch a ride on a vehicle of another, for this will incur great wrath from thy fellow Hashers.

  5. Thou shalt practice hash ettiquette at all times. Thou shall arm thyself with a whistle and chalk. When in sight of the sacred hash thou shalt cry 'On On' or blow on thy whistle two times. When approaching a decision point, thou shall clear trail until true trail is known and all other trails have been marked false. Thou shalt not follow short cutting bastards for their ways are evil and shall lead you into the Shiggy and away from beer. Thou shalt not whine and complain whilst hashing unless it be in the circle where accusations and judgements can commence. Thou shalt learn thy hash hymns and sing joyously as a song bird sings to welcome the dawn.

  6. Thou shalt make aware to all who hash thine trail as to the nature of its demeanor. Publish the requirements for survival and the friendliness towards the lowest of God's creatures. Make it known if to be suitable for man or beast.

  7. If thou in thine wisdom bringeth Virgins, be sure to instruct them in all things holy, (i.e. commandments, where to find the beer etc.) and to guide them until they attain a hash name and the wisdom to find their way upon the land.

  8. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's ass, unless thy neighbor is a Hasher of the opposite gender and willing to be coveted.

  9. Thou shalt not throw into the wilderness the receptacle of that which sustained thee, for the hash is not of a littering nature .

  10. Thou shalt remove thyself from the hash if found to be engaging in forbidden activities or if thou makest oneself an ass of magnitude. Thou shalt not burden thy fellow hasher with thine drunken ways. Thou shall remove thyself until a time has passed sufficient to reclaim ones hashing perspective and the good will of the pack.
